DAAD Information Center Istanbul

DAAD is an official German institution representing higher education institutions in Germany. Only general information about higher education conditions and DAAD scholarships in Germany is given at DAAD Counseling Centers; application tracking, document translation, application document preparation, etc. commercial services are not provided. We provide online collective information on certain days of the week, provided that an appointment is made. Participation in our information meetings is free of charge. Candidates do their research and applications independently from us. Please read the following carefully.

With the aim of providing information for studying, researching and funding opportunities in Germany, the DAAD Information Centre Istanbul was founded in 2000.

Our team

Elvan Yılmaz Gümüş

Elvan Yılmaz Gümüş started her academic journey at the Bertolt-Brecht-Gymnasium in Munich, later completing high school at the Hüseyin-Yıldız-Anadolu-Gymnasium in Istanbul. She then earned her bachelor’s degree in German Language and Literature at Marmara University. After graduation, she taught German in private language courses as well as through one-on-one lessons. From 2014 to 2020, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of German Language and Literature at Marmara University. In 2023, she successfully completed her master’s degree there. Since April 2022, she has been working as a higher education consultant at the DAAD Information Centre Istanbul.

M. Murat Kemaloğlu
Following his graduation from the German School Istanbul, he completed his bachelor’s degree in business administration at Boğaziçi University. He earned his master’s degree in theater criticism and dramaturgy from Istanbul University. He has  worked at Bogazici University Press for several years. He has held administrative responsibilities at İstanbul Kültür Schools and the İstanbul Kültür University. He was also part of the founding process of the university press of İstanbul Kültür University. Since December 2014 he works at DAAD Information Centre Istanbul.
